About Our Genre

Dear Welcome Visitor, Whether I call my work Visionary Fiction, Paranormal Romance or Modern Mythology, as a writer, my hope is that the story is focus of attention. I like fiction because I feel it meets people where they are and, in an incredibly honest way, offers the reader the opportunity to take away with them specifically what they want from the experience. For example: A Jungian Psychologist may read a piece of fiction and be immediately attuned to its symbolism and archetypes; a Literature Professor may read the same piece and be drawn to analyze its style and patterns. A Soul Searcher may read a story and find underlying meanings that are kindred expressions of his own philosophical beliefs; A Wordsmith may be charmed by the artful way an author has paired phrases into a romantic dance of thought. And some happy people may just be content to watch a character come to life before their eyes, find him or herself in a situation that requires conquering and, ultimately, become victorious over whatever conflict has arisen in his or her fictional life. Having literary license to create exotic and fantastical worlds is the privilege of the mythological taleteller. From Ulysses to Persephone, Pandora to King Arthur, we like our heroes and heroines to live in settings that take us away from the everyday world and give us the freedom to look at life from a fresh, unlikely angle.

As a reader, I adore being taken on exotic mind trips. As a writer, I strive to create enchanting environments for my characters. I hope you enjoy my work in the spirit in which it is offered: the Spirit of Discovery. And, no matter what you call it, remember that Mythological Tales are an important part of our culture and have been around even longer than the written word. At its most brilliant, Mythology is both enlightening and entertaining. I will feel I have been successful as a storyteller if, while you read my work, you ponder a little and smile a lot.
Blessings & Abundance,
