Solve all Centers

If all of your centers are solved but they are not in the correct location -

Edge Groups - the first 8

Try to find two edges that look like the following...   Note: Make sure the two top front edge pieces aren't a set - they will be split up

Do the move: d R U' R' d'.
This will solve the edge group, move it to the U face, swap with the unsolved edge group pieces and restore the centers.

If the two edge pieces are in the same layer, do the move L' F U' L F'.  This will flips the edge piece on the left from the u to the d layer.

Edge Groups - the last 4 (working edges)

Now you should have 8 edge groups solved and spread out in the U and D faces.

Try to find two edges that look like the following...

Front/Left View Front/Right View Note: the darker gray now symbolizes a solved edge group.

This move will exchange the yellow-blue piece from the left edge group with the red-green piece from the right edge group.   Once the exchange is completed, the centers will be restored.

Do the move: d R F' U R' F d'

Exceptions to general 3x3x3 Rubiks Cubes solving

Two Edges Switched
Two Corners Switched

Your cube may be otherwise solved but have two edges switched.

Your cube may be otherwise solved but have two corners switched.

Front/Left View Back/Left View Front/Left View Front/Left View

Adjacent Corners

Diagonally Opposite Corners

Do the move: r2 U2 r2 Uu2 r2 u2

These are essentially the same as with the two edges switched, except here the edges are solved which messes up the corners. Apply the same fix for these as for the two edges switched case.

Flipped Edge

If your cube still does not solve then another position it can be in is to have the whole cube solved except for one edge is flipped.

Front/Left View
Remember that this move only corrects the orientation of the one incorrect edge group. The last layer of the cube may still be semi-scrambled, and you may still need to finish applying your 3x3x3 solution to solve the cube.

Do the move: r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2
