Rainbow Goddess: A Journey Tale, a highly recommended metaphysical novel by Cynthia C. Whitehouse and set in a world where reality is responsive to the molding of thoughts and dreams. A young woman undertakes a journey on waves of light, following the guidance of her pagan mother and armed only with the strength of her own soul. Author and Color Image Consultant Cynthia C. Whitehouse has put together a page-turner of a novel, Rainbow Goddess: A Journey Tale, that not only offers a deft story, but a look at Self, all revolving around interaction with color.

Karina, the protagonist, is the daughter of a spiritualist (witch?) mother and a Catholic father. Now grown up, having experienced the heartbreak of both her father and husband leaving, Karina is about to experience the journey through the Crystal Goddess, a requirement of Momma’s coven. Cynthia writes, "In return for this, the Goddess showers the believer with insights, protection and blessing."

Each station during the journey in Rainbow Goddess is identified by a specific color, and the first stop is red, then pink, orange, peach, yellow, sea green, green, teal, sky blue, dark blue, purple, black and white and, finally, the rainbow. The vibrational journey is deep into Self, uncovering meaning and answers to why we do (or did) what we do. Which is reality? The reader will define that, individually.

Like a dream, Cynthia weaves a story that intertwines real happenings with alternate dimensions that add emphasis to the learning experience. Each color defines a different lesson culminating with the rainbow, and Karina finally understanding her truth and her identity---as the Rainbow Goddess.

Rainbow Goddess enables the reader to expose truth and the subsequent enlightenment during this vivid journey. And Cynthia Whitehouse in this dramatic first effort, has illuminated the way with insight and a writing style that will keep you riveted. This reviewer can’t wait for her next book, The Rainbow Guide to Color Energy.

"Rainbow Goddess" is a sensual, magical odyssey through the color spectrum. We embark with Karina on a dangerous but rewarding journey with the Crystal Goddess as She opens new levels of consciousness within each color.

The reader is gifted, along with Karina, with new insights into the affects of the color spectrum on our daily lives. "Rainbow Goddess" provides us with real transformative potentialities and fresh perspicuity into the esoteric realm of each color, including black and white.

Karina is apprehensive about taking the light-wave journey. Guided by her pagan mother, she is told the journey will make her whole. But Aunt Elena did not survive the journey, and Cura lost her sanity. Karina decides to go through the ritual anyway. Soon dreams form and her awareness is stretched and circled as she discovers new realities within each color, while seeking the prize at journey’s end within the rainbow.

Karina’s light-wave journey is illuminated on more than one level of awareness. The physical level focuses on the ability of Karina and husband Jake to get along and her dilemma about whether or not to proceed with the divorce. On the unconscious level her journey reveals different life perspectives and potentialities, including relating to Jake. This reviewer was experiencing that familiar chill, when the psyche is moved, while entering with Karina through the trap door of her unconscious into the dangerous but enlightening worlds of color-wave dimensions.

Rainbow Goddess is integrated with remarkable poetry, "Red, Passion Pursued," Chapter One, contains a stunningly brilliant poem, part of which goes—

"…For true tales are

round.

Sear my facades.

Seek through me for

Might.

Rescue chaos

Released in your

Light…"

Eloquent and compelling, this exceptional novel understandably illustrates concepts of color healing and contains a Goddess inspired mirror message about taking the first step to release the past and finding the here and now while learning forgiveness within it.

The author is well qualified to provide us transformative knowledge and a space with Karina on her quest. Cynthia Whitehouse is an image and color consultant. She has business experience as a lecturer and teacher. Her work is centered upon the way people respond psychologically and physically to colors.

Remarkable, life-enhancing discoveries await the reader of "Rainbow Goddess." While diving with Karina into the exotic, color worlds of interaction between soul and physical, we glean insight into the true reality of Self. Too interested to skip forward, this reviewer could not lay down the book until discovering Karina’s prize within the rainbow.

This novel was written by Cynthia C. Whitehouse who lives in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Whitehouse, who is a color and image consultant, took her love of literature and combined it with the way people respond to the energies of color to publish her first novel. Rainbow Goddess: is a journey that the author invites the reader to share as she intertwines personal experience with fantasy to create the story of Karina. Karina is a young woman who with the guidance of her mother and the strength of her own spirit "travels through vibrational dimensions that are both enlightening and dangerous." The book blends poetry and journal entries from Karina and her guide to tell the story of self-discovery. While the story is fiction the reader is pulled into the journey as if it is real creating the understanding that we all must take the "journey" if we are to expect the most out of our lives and relationships with others.

Whitehouse suggest that her book will be enjoyed [by] those who like "fantasy fiction, spiritual seekers, explorers of the metaphysical world, those at life's crossroads, a challenging relationship with someone you are close to, those participat[ing] in nature religions, those who like magic and for those who are practicing walking in two worlds. Moontress Press has a web site for those interested in more about the author and her projects. The site has excerpts from the novel as well short fiction and poetry samples. Having recently moved back to the Upper Peninsula Whitehouse writes the HGJ to say she is "happy to learn of and meet so many people on the healing and spiritual path." We welcome her and look forward to her upcoming projects.

From: "The Book Reader"

In dreams, we are free. In dreams, we know the truth, if we maintain awareness. Rainbow Goddess is a novel that struggles free of its dream fiction and passes through a world of breathing color vibrations. Karina is the main character, and she evolves into higher alternative realities in order to discover the woman who is dreaming and the woman she imagines herself to be. "Welcome to the Irascible Orange," an old man says to her.

The third entry in the Guide’s Journal (reads): "Karina had a close call in this color. She met the fire and didn’t control it." Every color is its own universal message, and each message is a wisdom for Karina to pass through. All different sorts of shapes and beings are available to her as she journeys onward. (From the Teal journey:) "My lab is filled with electronic equipment. I am looking for ‘rider’ frequencies flowing within known ones."

There are dream sequences, cosmic experiences—the twelfth entry of the Guide’s Journal: "Karina listened to her innermost self, fought her wild beast and followed her heart into the place where Spirits soar."

Karina’s indoctrination into the color green brings a judgment that her "body has an acceptable awareness of sensitivity to the emotional, intellectual and spiritual experiences of this lifetime."

Author Whitehouse is an Image and Color consultant "with a passion for watching the way light waves influence people’s behavior." An appealing, educational romp into magic and knowledge and the strength of prevailing color passions that create our personalities.

The Shifting Shroud
By Cynthia C. Whitehouse

Finally there is an author with the talent and foresight to write fiction for people with interests other than the run-of-the-mill romance-type novel. So move over James Redfield, as Cynthia Whitehouse's latest masterpiece, The Shifting Shroud, a brilliant mystical journey, has hit the shelves and will stay there as it moves up to the top of the best-seller lists!
The Shifting Shroud is a page-turner that this book reviewer could not put down. This is metaphysical fiction at its absolute best. Extremely well written, enticing and inspiring, here is a story with a strong female character whose greatest secret is that she is half-human and half Merlite. Ginger deals with life in an unconventional way, as she lives between two worlds, the astral and the physical planes.
Her mission? Ginger she has one, but doesn't even know what until it's almost too late! This enthralling book, which keeps you on the edge of your chair, is based on well-researched facts that author Cynthia Whitehouse painstakingly recorded as she delves into themes from quantum physics to the prophecies of Nostradamus.
I love this book; it is the best fiction I have read all year!
